Second seawater pumping station opens in Oman

Sohar: Second Seawater Pumping Station opened on Monday at Sohar Industrial Port under the auspices of Mohammed bin Salim Al Toobi, Minister of Environment and Climate Affairs in the presence of Sheikh Muhanna bin Saif Al Lamki, Governor of North Al Batinah.
Eng. Ahmed bin Saif Al Mazroai, CEO of Majis Industrial Services Company gave a speech in which he referred to the importance of this plant in the industrial and economic side, pointing out that the station will pump water to provide the companies and factories operating in the Sohar Industrial Port, particularly the expansion of Sohar Refinery.
Dr. Salim bin Ali Al Ma’amari, Director of Projects at Majis Industrial Services Company gave a presentation on the stages of construction of the new station. He said that the project estimated construction area is about 7,869 sqm , and the total capacity of the new plant is 400,000 cubic meters per hour to meet the needs of Sohar Refinery Expansion Project, Liwa for Plastics with up to 127,000 cubic meters per hour.
He added that the project meets the needs of Shinas Station for Power Generation with 120,000 cubic meters per hour, the Gulf of Oman Desalination Company with 20,000 cubic meters per hour and Majis Industrial Services with 26,000 cubic meters per hour.
Minister of Environment and Climate Affairs launched the station and toured it. He was briefed on the work mechanism of the station, the technological, technical and mechanical aspects used in the plant.
