Aden: Yemen's meteorological and early warning authority has recorded an earthquake in the Gulf of Aden, measuring 4.8 on the Richter scale. The earthquake was located off the coast of the governorates of Hadramout and Al Mahra in eastern Yemen, the latter of which shares a border with the Sultanate.
"A marine earthquake deep in the Gulf of Aden, off the coast of the governorates of Hadramout and Al Mahra, was detected, averaging 4.8 on the Richter scale," read a statement issued by the authority.
The seismic monitoring system recorded the epicentre at 52 degrees east and 14.75 degrees north.
The quake was felt by the residents in parts of Al Mahra and Hadramaut, with these areas being the closest to the earthquake's epicentre.
