Oman electronic population census 2020 panel reviews progress

Muscat: Progress in the electronic census 2020 was reviewed at a meeting of the Technical Committee of Electronic Census of Population, Housing and Establishments 2020 on Sunday.
This was the panel’s third meeting for 2018, and was held under the chair of Dr. Khalifa bin Abdullah Al Barwani, CEO of the National Centre for Statistics and Information, and head of the committee.
The Committee reviewed the presentation by Eng. Omar Al Ismaili, Director General of Census on the status of the project. The presentation covered the progress made in matching data, the measures taken to update the data and the electronic linkage mechanisms followed with the relevant databases.
The Committee also discussed the measures to implement the decisions of the second meeting and reviewed the status of the approved databases for the project.
The Committee also reviewed the electronic linkage among relevant stakeholders.
It approved the minutes of the second meeting and reviewed the outputs of the seminar on the media identity for Census.
