Through inspection campaigns carried out by the ministry on shops, in cooperation with Royal Oman Police and the Public Prosecution, teams seized products such as khanjars, swords, sticks, mussars, shawls, watches, and rings. The ministry also said that it would take legal action against any one who disrespected traditional Omani clothes, such as the Omani dishdasha, mussar, and kummah, or made any alterations to them that was offensive to the Omani identity.

The Ministry of Commerce and Industry has already warned commercial establishments and companies against any form of infringement with regard to the unauthorised sale of Omani clothes, as well as to refrain from importing or selling products altered in such a way that is offensive to the Omani identity.
A ministerial decree has set strict penalties for anyone who violates and damages Omani traditional clothes:
- An administrative fine not exceeding OMR 500.
- An administrative fine not exceeding OMR 1,000 in the event of a recurrence of the violation for the second time, with the suspension of the violated activity and the closure of the shop for three months.
- An administrative fine not exceeding OMR 3,000 in the event of a recurrence of the violation for the third time, with the cancellation of the violated activity from the Commercial Registry.
The Ministry of Commerce and Industry stated that it "calls upon all commercial establishments wishing to use the official emblems in their products by taking authorisation from the ministry, as well as not to make any alterations to the clothes that would be offensive to the Omani identity."
"The ministry also requests everyone's cooperation by reporting through its website, social media channels or by contacting the ministry's offices during working hours for any irregularities in this regard," the statement went on to read.
