Muscat: Oman Customs has seized more than 21,900 bottles of liquor, and “large quantities” of khat, officials announced today.
The alcohol bottles, officials said, were smuggled into the Sultanate and stored in Bausher. According to their statement online, “The General Administration of Customs is at the site where more than 21,900 bottles of wine were smuggled and stored in Bausher.”
Meanwhile, customs at Mazyona arrested a suspect who was attempting to smuggle khat, which was found hidden in his vehicle. Officials revealed, “Mazyona customs arrested a suspect who was in possession of a large quantity of khat. [The tobacco] was hidden behind the wheel of the vehicle.”
