Oman's share index ends marginally lower

Muscat: The MSM30 Index closed at 4602.08 points, down by 0.10 per cent. MSM Sharia index closed at 655.46 points, down by 0.20 per cent. Galfar Engineering was the most active in terms of volume as well as turnover. The top gainer of the day was HSBC Bank Oman, which rose by 2.91 per cent.
A total number of 539 trades were executed during the day's trading session generating a turnover of OMR527,000 with more than 4.11 million shares changing hands. Out of 36 traded stocks, 6 advanced, 11 declined and 19 remained unchanged. At the session close, Omani investors were net buyers for OMR77 million while GCC & Arab investors were net sellers for OMR70 million followed by Foreign investors for OMR7,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index up by 0.10 per cent at 7191.33 points. HSBC Bank Oman, Al Madina Investment, Bank Sohar and National Bank of Oman gained by 2.91 per cent, 1.92 per cent, 1.48 per cent and 1.14 per cent respectively. Ominvest, Bank Nizwa and AlIzz Islamic Bank declined by 3.23 per cent, 2.25 per cent and 1.25 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index ended the day’s session at 6120.84 points, down by 0.39 per cent. Voltamp Energy, Gulf International Chemicals, Galfar Engineering and Al Anwar Ceramics declined by 5.77 per cent, 2.02 per cent, 1.74 per cent and 0.90 per cent respectively.
Services Sector Index down by 0.27 per cent to close at 2,469.00 points. Muscat Gases, Jazeera Services, Phoenix Power, and Al Maha Petroleum declined by 7.94 per cent, 1.86 per cent 1.50 per cent and 0.50 per cent respectively.
