Authorities destroy over 20 kg of meat in Oman

Muscat: A total of 22 kg of meat was destroyed by municipal authorities in the Wilayat of Al Kamil Wa Al Wafi following an inspection of seven shopping centres on Saturday night.
Officials from the Wilayat's Food and Veterinary Inspection Department issued warnings and destroyed four kg of meat and 18 kg of frozen poultry after discovering that they did not comply with health standards.
In a statement released online, the Municipality said, "The Municipality of Al Kamil Wa Al Wafi, represented by the Food and Veterinary Inspection Department, carried out inspection visits to seven shopping centres in the evening, which resulted in issuing fines and warnings as well as the destruction of four kg of frozen meat and 18 kg of frozen poultry for failure to comply with health requirements."
