Muscat: There is some exciting news for Karate learners and enthusiasts living in Oman, as Grandmaster T.V. Naraynan from the Karate Association of India (KAI) is flying to Muscat to demonstrate his special moves and certify students of this popular form of martial arts on April 8 and 9.
On the April 8, Grandmaster Naraynan will be demonstrating his moves to a set of students from Harmony Music, Art & Karate Training Centre, this will be followed by a special Karate show and black belt skill test at the Indian Embassy auditorium from 4pm to 6pm on April 9.
The test for awarding black belt certificates is facilitated in Oman by C. P. George, who is an authorised coach of KAI and gives Karate training at Harmony Music, Art & Karate Training Centre.
All qualifying students will felicitated with certificates by Grandmaster Naraynan of KAI in a ceremony at Indian Embassy Auditorium on the April 9.
There will also be a demonstration of Karate skills by select group of Karate students on the same day where Indra Mani Pandey, Indian ambassador to Oman will be the chief guest.
George is delighted at this exciting event because according to him this will encourage students. “It’s great news that Grandmaster Naraynan has agreed to come and do the black belt examinations and will also preside over the Karate show, this will motivate the students who have been looking forward to such an opportunity for quite some time.”
Simon Koshi, secretary of All Indian Wado - KAI Karate Do Association’s Oman branch said “KAI is the only National Federation for Karate in India. It is duly affiliated with several Karate associations from world over and also recognised by the government of India, so the certificate awarded by KAI carries a lot of weight.”
