Al Hail Cricket Academy to host training camps under Summer Sports Programme

Muscat: As part of their plans to introduce and promote various sports across the Sultanate through Summer Sports progamme, the Ministry of Sports Affairs has entrusted the task of organising cricket activites to Al Hail Cricket Academy.
According to a press statement issued by Al Hail School of Cricket, this is only the second time that the Ministry has given a responsibility of running cricket acvities during Summer Sports initiative and too to the same ‘Omani club’.
“This is a huge honour and great recognition for the Academy,” the statement added.
Bader bin Mohammed Al Shabibi, Deputy Director of Summer Sport, and Moula Bakhsh Al Balushi, Chairman of Al Hail Cricket Club, are working together to take this unique initiative forward.
Meanwhile, Moula Bakhsh Al Balushi said: “We intend to spread awareness about this initiative at the ground level, across schools and other clubs through one-to-one interactions. We would like to involve more and more children across all nationalities to participate and develop a healthy body and a healthy mind.”
During the course of summer, the academy will be hosting junior and senior cricket camps during which the participants will undergo training under the watchful eyes of Omani and expatriate coaches.
The initial camps will run between July 1 and August 18, with each camp lasting six weeks and they are open to boys aged between five and 19 years.
There is no entry fee for the camps but only 200 entries will be accepted per week. Players all academies, teams and clubs are eligible to enroll themselves.
The organisers will also conduct matches during the camps and will present a number of awards at the end of the two months of activities.
