Muscat: The MSM30 Index ended on a flat note to close at 4596.91 points, marginally down by 0.03 per cent. MSM Sharia index closed at 657.92 points, up by 0.68 per cent. Galfar Engineering was the most active in terms of volume while Oman Cement was the most active of turnover. The top gainer of the day was Oman Cement, up by 3.83 per cent while Al Madina Investment down by 1.89 per cent was the top loser of the day.
A total number of 707 trades were executed during the day's trading session generating turnover of OMR3.09 million with more than 16.58 million shares changing hands. Out of 36 traded stocks, 6 advanced, 11 declined and 19 remained unchanged. At the session close, GCC& Arab investors switched to net buyers for OMR243,000 followed by Omani investors for OMR30,000 while Foreign Investors were net sellers for OMR263,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index fell by 0.16 per cent at 7156.87 points,. Bank Nizwa and Gulf Investment Services gained by 2.27 per cent and 0.94 per cent respectively. Al Madina Investment, Bank Sohar, Bank Dhofar and Muscat Finance declined by 1.89 per cent, 1.46 per cent, 1.14 per cent and 1.12 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index ended Wednesday's session at 6149.41 points, up by 0.58 per cent. Oman Cement, Jazeera Steel Product, Al Anwar Ceramics and Oman Flour Mills gained by 3.83 per cent, 1.30 per cent, 0.91 per cent and 0.53 per cent respectively. Oman Fisheries was the only loser and was down by 0.86 per cent to close at OMR0.115.
Services Sector Index down by 0.20 per cent to close at 2,480.75 points. Renaissance Services, National Gas and Omantel declined by 1.02 per cent, 0.57 per cent and 0.52 per cent respectively.
