Poachers arrested for killing Arabian Ibex in Oman

Muscat: A number of suspects have been arrested for killing an Arabian Ibex in a protected nature reserve, according to the Ministry of Environment and Climate Affairs.
The suspects were apprehended for killing a member of the rare and vulnerable species in the South Al Sharqiyah Governorate's Jebel Kahwan Nature Reserve.
In a statement, the ministry said, "A car of one of the suspects was discovered in one of the wadis while they were preparing to go fishing. Wildlife observers were tracking their movements, successfully launched a raid, confiscated what they had, and turned them over to the authorities."
The ministry confirmed that the suspects were now under investigation, and has asked citizens, residents and tourists not to disturb wildlife and to preserve the environment to avoid being arrested.
