Muscat: One of the world's toughest obstacle races is coming to the Sultanate. Tough Mudder, a five-kilometre obstacle race, will be held twice annually in Oman by Sabco Sports, one time each in Muscat and Salalah.
Sabco Sports Managing Director Nic Cartwright said, "Two Tough Mudders are coming to Oman on an annual basis and we cannot be more excited.

"Tough Mudder is one of the world's largest sporting grounds. They've pitched themselves as the world's toughest race. They do the race all over the world and Oman has already shown it has a real interest in this kind of event.
"Oman is a country that loves its sports, loves its entertainment, love its activities. It's a beautiful country as you look around it and Tough Mudder is the one that really, really wanted to do because it was the one that fit the country best."
Tough Mudder will be held in Muscat on November 30, 2018 at the Oman Exhibition and Convention Centre (OCEC).

Cartwright added that the details of Tough Mudder Salalah will be confirmed when they are finalised with the local municipality.
"The Tough Mudder race format starts with a five kilometre race, then goes to the half mudder, full mudder, muddier, muddiest — getting harder, harder and harder.
"As it grows, our aim is to turn it into a three-day weekend, a festival, and it's a super cool sport that is being brought to the beautiful country of Oman."
