Muscat: Aston Martin unveiled the latest version of its iconic sports car, the Vantage, yesterday at its showroom in Azaiba.
The new monster carries the identity of a classic Aston Martin, yet sports individual characteristics that scream sporty elegance. The look is bold, and performance and dynamics are even better.
The Vantage is powered by 4.0-litre, twin-turbo V8 mated to an eight-speed ZF transmission, with a maximum speed of 195mph, and can do 0-100Kmh in 3.5 seconds.
The new features include an Electronic Rear Differential (E-Diff), which is linked to the car’s electronic stability control system that works to figure out the car’s behaviour and respond accordingly. Unlike a standard LSD, this car’s feature can go from fully open to 100 per cent locked in milliseconds.
The excellent integration of engine, transmission, E-Diff, Dynamic Torque Vectoring, Dynamic Stability Control, Adaptive Damping and electric power steering systems, contribute to the car’s unparalleled sharp agility and responsiveness.

The car’s exterior sports a unique design and sculpted form that creates an athletic stance, while retaining its minimalistic aesthetic. Some of the exciting new features include head and tail lights that form dramatic signatures, excellent aerodynamics, minimal front and rear overhangs, muscular flanks, and broad haunches that express the agility and dynamic qualities the car is known for.
Inside the Vantage, the craftsmanship continues. The focus is on the driver — a true sports car quality. The cockpit is designed with sharp, focused lines that express belligerence, as well as a high waist interior theme and lower driving position that create a more fun and sporty driving experience, and allows for more space and headroom than the previous model.
The Vantage has top-notch standard equipment such as keyless start/stop button, tyre pressure monitoring system, parking distance display, park assist and front and rear parking sensors, as well as the In-Car Entertainment system that comes with a centrally mounted 8” LCD screen. Other features include the Aston Martin Audio System, Bluetooth audio and phone streaming, gadget charging ports, and an integrated satellite navigation system.
Aston Martin Chief Executive Officer Dr. Andy Palmer said: “It speaks volumes for the outgoing Vantage that it is the single most successful model in Aston Martin’s history. Creating a worthy successor has been a challenge to relish and a huge source of
motivation, I’m enormously excited by what we’ve created: a new Vantage that’s more explicit in looks and intent, wrapping a heart-pounding performance and dazzling dynamics into an everyday usable package. A true sports car with a sharper look and a keener dynamic edge, the new Vantage is the Aston Martin pure driving machine enthusiasts have been waiting for.”
The Aston Martin Vantage will be delivered to customers in the second quarter of 2018.
