Royal Cavalry qualify for World Equestrian Games Championship

Muscat: The Royal Cavalry proudly continues achieving high results in international stage, guided by the wise thinking of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said.
Eight riders and ten horses from the Royal Cavalry’s Endurance Section qualified to the World Equestrian Games Championship, which will be held in September in Trion city, North Carolina, US.

Brigadier General Abdulrazak Al Shahwarzi, Commander of the Royal Cavalry, affirmed that 8 riders and 10 horses from the Royal Cavalry qualified to the World Equestrian Games Championship, which will be held in US.
He said this is a bright achievement added to the Royal Cavalry.
He added that this success came after the plan achieved its goals, as well as due to the efforts exerted in international races that were organised by International Equestrian Federation in several European countries including France, Germany and Spain where the Royal Cavalry’s riders trained and competed in under the supervision of Romain Laporte, French trainer.
This Championship is one of the most important championships organised by the International Equestrian Federation.
Al Shahwarzi said “We will do our best to qualify another group of riders and horses so that our team will choose the best riders and horses to represent the Sultanate in this international event where 4 riders from each participating country represent their countries.
Al Shahwarzi thanked Nasr bin Hamood Al Kindi, Secretary General of Royal Court Affairs for his constant support to the team.
He also thanked the riders and technical and administrative teams for their efforts.
He added that “I am proud of the Royal Cavalry’s riders because they work with one team spirit”.
Eight riders qualified to the World Equestrian Games Championship in USA 2018.
Hisham bin Saleh Al Farsi qualified on his mare Fenous after he successfully passed French International Linear Race organized by FEI for a distance of 160 km.
Ahmed bin Salim Al Hamdani qualified on his mare Tagzo after he successfully finished French International Membazeh Race organised by FEI for a distance of 160 km.
Saleh bin Salim Al Balushi qualified on his stallion Rice after he successfully finished Membazeh International Race organized by FEI for a distance of 160 km.
Similarly, Ali bin Hassan Al Farsi qualified on his stallion
Khanjar after he successfully finished the French International Florace Race organised by FEI for a distance of 160 km.
Mahmood bin Marhoon Al Foori qualified on his mare Daleelah after he successfully finished the German International Beben House Race organised by FEI for a distance of 160 km.
In addition, Adil bin Said Al Balushi qualified on his stallion Rafal after he successfully finished German International Beben House Race organised by FEI for a distance of 160 and Faisal bin Ibrahim Al Farsi qualified on
Cara after he successfully finished the German International Ben Housen Race for 160 km.
Hussain bin Ali Al Farsi qualified on his stallion Rfar De Career after he finished the French International Membazeh Race organized by FEI for 160 km.
Besides the eight horses, Toscan and Ondia also qualified for the championship.
Romain Laporte said that the Royal Cavalry has talented riders and we as technical team strive to develop and sculpt their talents and to discover new talents to create mixture of old and new riders to achieve high results.
The trainer pointed out that the Royal Cavalry’s riders competed in a number of European countries from which they gained good experienced and got familiar with the paths of the races of different terrains.
We tried to maintain the qualified horses, in addition to qualifying other horses including young horses.
Our ambition to compete by them in World Equestrian Games 2020.
