Muscat: The Public Authority for Consumer Protection (PACP) has warned retailers against inflating prices this Ramadan.
Any outlet caught violating this rule will be fined, authorities said.
According to PACP, “Any retail outlet caught violating the new rule will receive a fine ranging from OMR60 to OMR1,000.”
PACP has also launched a new product to help consumers during Ramadan.
PACP said, “For the Holy Month, PACP will also be launching the ‘Ramadan Basket’, a comprehensive product that includes staples such as rice, flour, oil, sugar, dates, fruits and vegetables. The baskets will cost between OMR 9-10 and will help save customers time.”
