Falling Walls Lab contest winners announced

Muscat: The Research Council in cooperation with the Falling Walls Foundation announced the winners of Falling Walls (Oman) Lab Competition yesterday.
The first place went to students Balqis bint Sultan Al Rahili from Oman International Marine College for a project titled (Production of fuel from biological waste), while Sara bint Saleem Al Batrani from Nizwa University secured second place for a project titled (electronic sanctuary) and the third place went to Dr. Saad Sabir Daham from the College of Applied Sciences of Al Rustaq.
The first and second winners will qualify for the finals of the competition in Berlin, next November.
The competition is aimed to shed light on the capabilities of the upcoming generation of researchers. The opening ceremony was held under the auspices of Her Highness Dr. Mona bint Fahd Al Said, assistant vice chancellor of Sultan Qaboos University for international cooperation and under sponsorship of Oman LNG Company, Oman Environmental Service Holding Company S.A.O.C (be’ah) and Oman Air.
