Muscat: The MSM30 Index declined 0.14 per cent to close at 4,711.73 points. The MSM Sharia Index gained 0.32 per cent to end at 662.97 points. Al Sharqia Investment was the most active stock in terms of volume as well as turnover. The top gainer was National Gas, up 9.09 per cent, while the day’s top loser was Muscat Finance, down 3.85 per cent.
A total number of 995 trades were executed on Monday, generating turnover of OMR3.28 million with 23.48 million shares changing hands. Out of 40 traded securities, 9 advanced, 11 declined and 20 remained unchanged. At the session close, Omani investors were net buyers for OMR121,000 followed by GCC & Arab for OMR36,000 while Foreign Investors switched to net sellers for OMR157,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index ended marginally lower at 7,318.53 points, down 0.03 per cent. Al Sharqia Investments, Oman & Emirates Holding, Vision Insurance, Al Izz Bank and United Finance were up by 3.91 per cent, 3.10 per cent, 1.38 per cent, 1.28 per cent and 0.89 per cent respectively. Muscat Finance, Bank Sohar and Al Madina Takaful declined 3.85 per cent, 1.39 per cent and 0.92 per cent respectively.
Industrial Sector retreated 0.10 per cent to close at 6,420.10 points. Al Anwar Ceramics and Oman Cables increased 3.45 and 0.45 per cent respectively. Galfar Engineering, Oman Fisheries, Gulf International Chemicals and Oman Cement declined 1.71 per cent 1.60 per cent, 1.46 per cent and 1.10 per cent respectively.
Services Index increased 0.27 per cent to finish at 2,524.12 points. National Gas and Ooredoo gained 9.09 per cent and 0.84 per cent respectively. MCDE, OIFC, Phoenix Power and Omantel lost 3.45 per cent, 1.64 per cent, 0.72 per cent and 0.48 per cent respectively.
