Oman share index ends marginally low

Muscat: The MSM30 Index declined 0.15 per cent to close the session at 4,718.48 points. The MSM Sharia Index ended marginally lower at 660.87 points, down 0.02 per cent. Galfar Engineering was the most active stock in terms of volume while Al Sharqia Investment led in terms of turnover. The top gainer was National Gas, up 6.21 per cent, while the day’s top loser was Global Financial Investment, down 3.64 per cent.
A total number of 1,112 trades were executed on Sunday, generating turnover of OMR4.43 million with 30.05 million shares changing hands. Out of 39 traded securities, 13 advanced, 11 declined and 15 remained unchanged. At the session close, Foreign Investors were net buyers for OMR256,000 followed by Omanis for OMR106,000 while GCC & Arab switched to net sellers for OMR362,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index closed at 7,320.75 points, up 0.08 per cent. Al Sharqia Investments, Al Anwar Holding, Gulf Investment Services, Oman & Emirates Holding and Al Ahlia Insurance were up by 4.07 per cent, 1.97 per cent, 0.92 per cent, 0.78 per cent and 0.56 per cent respectively. Global Financial Investment, Al Madina Takaful, Al Madina Investments and NBO declined 3.64 per cent, 2.68 per cent, 1.79 per cent and 0.55 per cent respectively.
Industrial Sector gained 0.20 per cent to end at 6,426.52 points. National Aluminium, Oman Flour Mill, Oman Cement, Al Anwar Ceramic and Oman Fisheries increased 3.57 per cent, 1.62 per cent, 1.11 per cent, 0.87 per cent and 0.81 per cent respectively. Raysut Cement and Al Jazeera Steel declined 1.66 per cent and 1.23 per cent respectively.
Services Index retreated 0.04 per cent to end at 2,517.20 points. National Gas, Al Jazeera Services and OIFC gained 6.21 per cent, 3.07 per cent and 0.83 per cent respectively. Renaissance Services, Ooredoo, Al Suwadi Power, Al Maha Petroleum and Omantel lost 1.52 per cent, 0.84 per cent, 0.79 per cent, 0.49 per cent and 0.48 per cent respectively.
