Indian child prodigy does ISG proud with acting skill

Muscat: A Tamil short film that starred an ISG (Indian School Al Ghubra) student, Tanisha Nasira, will be screened at the prestigious Dada Saheb Phalke Film Festival in India. The film was directed by Tasleem Khan, an Indian expat in Oman.
The film, ‘Illaiyadi’ which means ‘It’s not there’ was screened at the festival yesterday. The film was also screened at the Norway Tamil Film Festival on April 27, 2018.
The film which has a strong social message, revolves around a girl- played by Tanisha- reading a poem under a streetlight.
The eight-year-old ISG student has acted in two other Tamil short films - ‘Manasu’ and ‘Mezhugu’. She was recognised for her exemplary acting skills by the Tamil Wing of the Indian Social Club when they presented her with the ‘Best Child Actress Award’ for her role in the films. A statement by ISG reads, “The principal of the school, Mrs. Papri Ghosh and the teachers are immensely proud of Tanisha for her excellent performance in the short film.”
