Capturing Oman’s historic and iconic landmarks

The Opera Galleria played host to a special exhibition by award-winning Omani photographer Fatma Al Qassabi in celebration of the 48th National Day. The successful exhibition, entitled ‘Historical Angles’, was inaugurated by Sayyid Adel bin Al Murdas Al Busaidi, Advisor for Tourism Affairs at the Ministry of Tourism. Born and raised in Wilaya Samail, Al Qassabi is well-known for her detailed photographic journals of Oman’s most historic and iconic landmarks. Reflecting on her work, she said, “I grew up around historic landmarks and have a deep respect for their significance.

They are the silent witnesses of so many events which have had a profound impact on our country and our culture. I strongly believe that those who have no past have no future so it is up to us to look after these landmarks and reflect on their wisdom.” This latest exhibition joined a long list of events that reflect the Galleria’s commitment to connect creative minds and artistic souls. Today, it is a destination for lifestyle connoisseurs and has become a platform for both local and international artists to showcase their collections and talents.
