NRIs in Oman getting more Rupees for their Rials

Muscat: There is good news for Indian expats in the Sultanate on the forex front as one Omani Rial is currently fetching INR170.50.
This comes after the Indian rupee hit its lowest level against the dollar in the recent months on Tuesday, amid a worsening trade scenario and a steep increase in global oil prices.
"A combination of global and domestic factors is triggering the rupee's loss," R. Madhusoodhanan, CEO of Global Money Exchange, a currency exchange and remittance provider in the Sultanate of Oman, said. "My take is the dollar would continue to be stronger and will fetch INR175 in the coming days," he added.
Where the Indian rupee stacked against the Rial is concerned, money exchange houses say the current rate offers a good opportunity. "Even INR170 (for a Rial) is a decent level. If someone can wait, they can do so. In the region of 170 for a Rial is a very good deal," he added.
