Campaign to eradicate Polio in Pakistan launched

Muscat: A nationwide campaign to eradicate polio has been launched in Pakistan on December 10, 2018, Pakistan’s PM Imran Khan announced.
Talking about the campaign he called upon his people to take part in this initiative.
In a statement online, Khan said, “As the nationwide campaign against polio begins across Pakistan, I call on the nation to step forward, take responsibility and make Pakistan #polio-free.”
Meanwhile, Pakistan’s Human Rights Minister, Dr Shireen Mazari, also appealed to parents to make sure their children receive polio drops. “The last anti-polio campaign of 2018 begins today. I appeal to all parents to help eradicate this menacing disease from Pakistan by ensuring their children receive polio drops,” said Mazari.
According to officials of Tehreek-e-Insaaf, 38 million children under the age of five years will be vaccinated during the national campaign starting today in an effort to end polio in the country.
“[There are] three main cities in the country from where polio virus is spreading to other parts. Vaccinate your child against lifelong paralysis by ensuring they are given polio drops. Last polio campaign of the year is from 10-14 December, 2018 as #PakFightsPolio,” the online statement read.
