Oman Qaboos website seeks to publicise HM’s achievements

Muscat: The Oman Qaboos website, which represents the great personality of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said, continues its development since its inauguration and in the midst of the country’s 48th National Day celebrations.
Hamoud bin Mohammed Al Azri, General Supervisor of the Amman Qaboos website, added that there is cooperation in the translation process with direct supervision of ambassadors and diplomats. The management of the website includes translation through different stages before being uploaded onto the website and is also followed up by the embassies.
He said the management of the website seeks to link with the websites of Omani missions outside the Sultanate, as well as the embassies accredited to the Sultanate and to introduce different languages through their own channels.
In his special statement, Al Azri said that the project was a personal gesture of gratitude to Oman’s gracious leader and a great wish to make the website a source of reference for every researcher who wants to know more about the personality of this great man in international languages.
A global initiative launched by the website during the four consecutive years includes an electronic booklet that allows people across the world to express their deep love and appreciation to His Majesty Sultan Qaboos and the Omani people.
This year’s initiative continues to receive accolades. Al Azri explained that the website’s management will announce 48,000 congratulations in various languages. Since its inception in early November, the initiative has been sponsored by the Minister of Higher Education, which has exceeded thousands of congratulations.
Pointing to the great role that the embassies are playing in this important national project, Al Azri said he would soon announce new languages.
The modern design of the website will be accompanied by important national achievements that will be launched in the next short period, while the technical equipment will be prepared and available in its new format and in 35 languages.
The website will also launch the Council Leaders’ initiative on the occasion of the Gulf Cooperation Council Summit for the sixth year in a row.
The website has received worldwide acclaim from kings and presidents and a number of officials inside and outside the Sultanate. Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands praised the efforts of the department of the website and the great work, in cooperation with the Netherlands embassy in Oman.
The website was also lauded by the President of India; President Benigno Aquino III of the Philippines; Al Haj Al Muhtadi Bellah, Crown Prince of Brunei Darussalam; and the Prime Minister of South Korea.
The website is gaining importance because it is related to an exceptional personality that enjoys acceptance, love and respect from the international community, His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said.
With regard to awards for the website, the project was honoured by many organisations across the region. Al Azri was honoured by the Middle East Institute for Excellence for the 6th Middle East Award for Excellence in Future Leadership in Knowledge Management in the IT sector.
The Oman Qaboos website addresses 30 international languages: Arabic, English, French, Hindi, Portuguese, Korean, Persian, Swahili, German, Italian, Japanese, Russian, Chinese, Spanish, Malay, Bengali, Thai, Filipino, Indonesian, Urdu, Dutch, Turkish, Nepali, Malayalam, Estonian, Vietnamese, Romanian, Greek, Danish and Polish.
