Planning council reviews diversification initiatives

Muscat: Three initiatives of the national programme for enhancing economic diversification were reviewed on Tuesday at a high-level meeting.
The Steering Committee at the Secretariat General of the Supreme Council for Planning held its seventh meeting under the chairmanship of Talal bin Sulaiman Al Rahbi, Deputy to Secretary General of the Supreme Council for Planning in the presence of the execution and follow up support unit and members of the initiatives teams.
The meeting also reviewed the indices approved for 2018 and the targeted benchmarks of each index and the percentage of achievement in each initiative.
Heads of the action teams introduced the latest developments related to classification of the projects that could be executed in partnership with the government institutions.
The action team of the initiative on building the capabilities of the government institutions for classification of projects pointed to that the first training programme for the year has commenced and for six weeks from March 25 to May 5, 2018.
