Muscat: A total of 11 expats of different nationalities were arrested for possession and the use of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances, announced the Royal Oman Police (ROP).
In one case, the General Department of Narcotic and Psychotropic Substances in Bausher arrested two people on charges of possessing psychotropic substances that they were planning to use and smuggle.
An official source in the Royal Oman Police said: "The Asian suspects were found with herbal material and a number of paper rolls for marijuana. The police also seized a cash amount of more than OMR2,000, which the accused received by smuggling drugs."
In the other case, 9 people of different nationalities were arrested for possession of narcotics, last month.
According to officials, "The Southern Sharqiyah Police Department, represented by the Department of Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances, arrested 9 suspects of different nationalities last month for the possession and use of narcotic and seized drugs.”
The accused were referred to judicial authorities to complete the investigation.
