Muscat: Long-serving cricket administrator Kanak Khimji was re-elected as Oman Cricket chairman during the Sultanate cricket body’s Annual General Meeting.
The Oman Cricket recently held its AGM and board elections for 2018-2021 term at Al Falaj Hotel, where 12-member new board was elected.
According to a statement issued by Oman Cricket on Wednesday, a total of eleven nominations were received for the board office bearers.
Chairman Kanak Khimji, vice-chairman Sayyid Qais Khalid Qais Al Said, secretary Madhu Jesrani and treasurer Kiran Asher were elected unopposed.
The remaining seven nominees contested for five posts of ordinary members on the board and after a secret ballot Pankaj Khimji, Dilipkumar Mehta, Syed Anwar Ahsan, Maqbool Moosa Al Lawati and Dad Mohammed Al Balushi were elected for a new four-year term.
The two candidates who failed to make it were Vaishali Jesrani and Azra Begum.
