Muscat: The MSM30 Index ended the session on a flat note at 4,759.29 points, up 0.02 per cent. The MSM Sharia Index gained 0.14 per cent to close at 679.48 points. Oman United Insurance was the most active in terms of volume as well as turnover. The top gainer was Oman National Engineering, up 6.96 per cent while the top loser was Oman United Insurance, down 7.43 per cent.
A total number of 888 trades were executed on Tuesday, generating turnover of OMR3.87 million with 17.8 million shares changing hands. Out of 41 traded securities, 11 advanced, 9 declined and 21 remained unchanged. At the session close, GCC & Arab investors were net buyers for OMR353,000 while Omani investors remained net sellers for OMR296,000 followed by Foreign investors for OMR57,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index retreated 0.27 per cent to finish at 7,132.10 points. Al Sharqia Investment, Al Anwar Holding and Bank Muscat gained 3.74 per cent, 0.65 per cent and 0.56 per cent respectively. Oman United Insurance, AL Batinah Development, Al Madina Takaful, Gulf Investment Services and Bank Nizwa declined 7.43 per cent, 4.44 per cent, 3.26 per cent, 2.13 per cent and 1.16 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index ended at 6,667.34 points, down 0.25 per cent. Muscat Thread Mills, Al Maha Ceramics, Oman Cement, Gulf International Chemicals and National Biscuit Industries gained 1.32 per cent, 1.05 per cent, 0.55 per cent, 0.47 per cent and 0.13 per cent respectively. Oman Fisheries and Oman Flour Mills declined 3.76 per cent and 2.29 per cent respectively.
Services Index gained 0.47 per cent to close at 2,583.83 points. Oman National Engineering, Al Jazeera Services and Ooredoo gained 6.96 per cent, 6.06 per cent and 2.94 per cent respectively.
