School in Oman hosts exhibition of Omani dates

Muscat: An Omani dates exhibition - Ataya Al Nakhla (the palm tree gifts) - was hosted at the Ghudow Elementary School in Dhofar.
The exhibition that was part of the central evaluation of the school in the Community Partnership Programme, included several types of dates brought from different regions in the Sultanate. In addition to that, the exhibition also showcased products that were made from various parts of dates and palm trees, apart from paintings and crafts made by students from the school and members of the Council of Mothers.
Dr. Saif bin Saeed Al Ma'amari, Advisor to the Minister of Education for Educational Administration Affairs, inaugurated the exhibition, in the presence of the Central Evaluation Committee members and a number of educational supervisors, teachers and students.
Laila Bint Salem Al Meshali, Principal of Ghudow School, said “This event is aimed at raising awareness about the importance of dates and palm trees in our society. It is also aimed at making students aware of the different parts of the palm tree and how we can use them in our daily lives.”
