Muscat: Oman Air has announced the addition of a new Boeing 737 MAX to its fleet, the second it has received as part of a 30-plane deal with the American aviation giant. The airline is currently undergoing an exciting fleet and network expansion programme.
The airline is committed to constantly improving its product, while undergoing a dynamic fleet and network expansion, developing its brand, and offering guests an unrivalled experience as part of its mission to become the best.
As part of the airline’s strategic vision, the company aims to operate up to 62 aircraft and expand to some 60 destinations by 2022. This year, the national carrier is preparing to launch three new routes to some of the world’s most popular tourist destinations—Istanbul, Casablanca and Moscow.
Oman Air’s flights to Istanbul will launch on June 1. Flight WY163 will depart from Muscat daily at 8pm, arriving in Istanbul at 12.25am. The return flight, WY164, will depart from Istanbul at 1.25am, arriving in Muscat at 7.25am. The flight duration is approximately 5 hours and 25 minutes.
The new Casablanca flight will start on July 1 and will be the only non-stop service connecting Muscat to Morocco’s highly popular coastal city. Flight WY171 will depart from Muscat four times a week at 1.20am, arriving in Casablanca at 07.10am. The return flight, WY172, will depart from Casablanca at 08.20am, arriving in Muscat at 7.15pm. The flight duration will be approximately eight hours and 50 minutes, though the return flight from Casablanca will be shorter by approximately an hour.
Oman Air’s flights to Moscow will be launched during the Winter Schedule 2018. The direct flight will be operated daily and it will be the only non-stop operation between Oman and Russia.
