Environment ministry investigating unknown gas leak in Oman

Muscat: Oman's Ministry of Environment and Climate Affairs is investigating a gas leak at a mine in the Wilayat of Shinas.



A statement from the ministry read, "The ministry has sent a specialised team with the aid of the Public Authority for Civil Defence and Ambulance and the Public Authority for Mining, as well as a representative from the Shura Council, in cooperation with a consultancy, with the goal of discovering the nature of the gas and collecting samples.

"This is in preparation to undergo proper procedure after learning the nature, concentration, and possible effects of the gas."
