Muscat: A function was organised by the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Embassy to mark the 47th National Day on Tuesday.
Welcoming the guests, Mohammed bin Sultan Al Suwaidi, UAE Ambassador to the Sultanate, reviewed the UAE-Omani strong relations and the development march witnessed by the UAE.
The reception was held at Shangri-La Barr Al Jissah Resort and Spa, Al Bandar Hotel.
The UAE ambassador affirmed that celebrations continue in a remarkable solidarity that emphasises the unity of the two brotherly people and their common destiny. He wished the Sultanate permanent progress and prosperity.
Pointing out the farsightedness of the wise leaderships of both countries, Al Suwaidi said the pillars of friendship were established by His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said and His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE President.
They contributed to intensifying important discussions and talks between the officials of the two countries to exchange views, culminating in signing of many agreements in various spheres, he added.
The UAE Ambassador to the Sultanate hailed the level of the bilateral relations between the two countries.
He affirmed that such relations are based on principles of cooperation, mutual respect, and reached the level of strategic partnership in recent years. The ceremony included a number of performances that showed the extent to which the strong relations binding the two countries. It also included a photo exhibition highlighting the UAE achievements during its development and progress march achieved during the past decades.
The ceremony was attended by senior officials, heads of the diplomatic missions accredited to the Sultanate and officials of the Foreign Ministry.
