This place in Oman is getting its first taxi-waiting lounge

Muscat: Sohar will get its first taxi-waiting lounge, worth over OMR35,000.
According to authorities from the Municipality, construction of the building began on March 4, 2018. The building has a modern design and will be situated near the Sohar bridge, in the direction of Lulu hypermarket.
An official from Sohar Municipality said, “The building will take four months to complete. It consists of two lounges, one for men and the other for women.”
The lounge will be able to hold nearly 80 people at a time and “each lounge will be equipped with air conditioners and CCTV cameras”. The official added, “Additionally, the doors of the lounge and the front portion of the building will be made of glass, to make it easier for passengers to see when their vehicle arrives.”
"The aim of the lounge is to ensure the safety and comfortability of travellers. Many people stand under the sun waiting for taxis, this way, they will be protected during summer and from the rain in winter,” the official said.
Several locals and residents welcomed the new project. Mohammed Al Balushi, a resident of Sohar said, “This is an amazing project. On the days that I do not have my car, it is very useful to have such a waiting area. This service will benefit people who use taxis in that area, since Sohar is among the most humid cities in Oman.”
