176 expat workers arrested in Oman

Muscat: A total of 176 expat workers were arrested in the Governorate of Dhofar for violating the Labour and Residence Law, Royal Oman Police (ROP) has announced.

According to officials, the expats were of “Asian” nationality.

In a statement online ROP said, “Dhofar Police Command, in cooperation with the Special Tasks Police Unit in Salalah, carried out an operation where violators were arrested in the Wilayat of Thumrait. 176 expats of Asian nationality who were violating the labour and residence laws have been arrested and legal proceedings are underway."
