Bin Alawi holds bilateral talks with French official

Muscat: Yousuf bin Alawi bin Abdullah, Minister Responsible for Foreign Affairs received in his Office on Monday Maurice Gourdault-Montagne, Secretary General of the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs in the French Republic.
During the meeting, the two side discussed a number of political issues of common concern and stressed on the importance of cooperation and existing partnership between the two friendly countries and peoples.
On the other hand, Sayyid Badr bin Hamad bin Hamoud Al Busaidi, Secretary General of the Foreign Ministry led the Omani side in the strategic dialogue session, while Maurice Gourdault-Montagne, Secretary General of the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs in the French Republic led the French side.
During the session, the two sides discussed horizons of strengthening the bilateral relations and means of enhancing cooperation on various promising fields of mutual benefit, as well as boosting partnership at the economic and commercial level and continue deepening cultural, educational and knowledge cooperation.
At the diplomatic and political level, the two sides exchanged viewpoints on several challenges, current regional and International issues, beside efforts being exerted to contribute in solving them via peaceful means, dialogue and political negotiations.
The consultations were attended by a number of officials from the Foreign Ministry, whilst it was attended from the French side by Renaud Salins, French Ambassador to the Sultanate and the delegation accompanying the guest.
