Majlis Office approves mechanism for questions on ministerial statements

Muscat: A mechanism to prepare themes and questions in preparations for the ministerial statements was agreed upon at a meeting of the Majlis Al Shura Office on Wednesday.
The Majlis Al Shura Office held the joint meeting under the chair of Khalid bin Hilal Al Ma’awali, Chairman of Majlis Al Shura in the presence of members of the Majlis Permanent Committees, members of the Office and Sheikh Ali bin Nasser Al Mahrouqi, Secretary General of the Majlis. During the 9th meeting of the 3rd annual sitting (2017–2018) of the 8th term, the Majlis Office discussed a range of topics listed on its agenda that included legislative and oversight tools and means presented by the members.
The Office also reviewed work progress at the Majlis Permanent Committees. The Majlis Office affirmed on the committees’ role to focus on most important emerging issues.
The meeting also discussed a mechanism of coordination between the Majlis Office and its Permanent Committees in various topics discussed by the committees.
The Office viewed a letter of the Health and Environment Committee on the topic of increasing private rooms at government hospitals.
