Muscat: The Oman National Transport Company, Mwasalat, plans to launch several new routes in Oman, officials announced today.
While Mwasalat will be adding 10 new lines within Muscat, they also plan to launch new routes that connect Muscat to Salalah, Buraimi, Ad Duqm, and Shanna.
According to Salim An Naimi, Undersecretary of Transport at the Ministry of Transport and Communications, “Mwasalat plans to launch new routes linking Muscat to Salalah, Buraimi, Ad Duqm, and Shanna in 2018.”
There was also a rise in the number of passengers who used the public transport system since 2016. Salim An Naimi added, “Mwasalat recorded a total of 4.5 million passengers in 2017, which is higher when compared to the 3.7 million who registered in 2016.”
