Muscat: A team from Muscat Municipality has begun undertaking inspection visits to Madinat Al Sultan Qaboos in the capital, with a number of violations for abandoned houses and other buildings recorded.
The Directorate General of Muscat Municipality formed a joint working group, to follow up on the inspections in the wilayat, under the chairmanship of Mr. Khalid Bin Hamad Ar`Rahbi, Director of the Urban Inspection Department. The group is assisted by specialists from the departments of public hygiene, maintenance and technical affairs apart from the legal department.
"A joint team that was formed to follow up and inspect the administrative, technical and health aspects in the municipality of Bausher began work with a field visit to the suburb of Madinat Al Sultan Qaboos.
"The team recorded violations such as abandoned houses; unmaintained houses; buildings used for storage in residential areas without a license; and construction of shelters with temporary fixtures," a statement from the agency read.
The team checks the extent to which institutions comply with the standards of occupational health and safety. It also follows up and ensures that the implemented projects are free of irregularities.
