Muscat: Made in Qatar exhibition 2018 was opened at Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre (OCEC) on Monday under the auspices of Yahya bin Said Al Jabri, Chairman of the Public Authority for Investment Promotion and Export Development.
The four-day event is organised by Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry (QCCI), in cooperation with Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI). About 240 Qatari companies operating in various industrial fields take part at the exhibition.
During the opening ceremony, Ali bin Ahmed Al Kuwari, Qatari Minister of Commerce and Industry spoke about the distinguished relations between the Sultanate and the State of Qatar.
He hoped that this exhibition would contribute to promoting the business relations between the two brotherly countries. He pointed out that the exhibition provides businessmen in both countries with the opportunity to ink business deals.
A Qatari-Omani Business Forum will also be held on the sidelines of the exhibition with the theme “Developing Industry: A Strategic Choice”.
More than 100 leading businessmen from both sides will take part in the forum, which will review investment and business opportunities available in the different industrial sectors.
The forum will review means of enhancing business and economic relations between the two brotherly countries.
It also includes a seminar under the theme “Industry as A Strategic Choice”.
The seminar will discuss means of enhancing bilateral and joint investments. The exhibition comprises companies from five industrial sectors in the State of Qatar namely food and beverage, furniture, petrochemicals, SMEs, diversified industries, in addition to producing families and home-based industries.
