Muscat: Young Omani talent Muneer Al Rawahi clinched a double when the Oman Tennis Association successfully organised second OTA Monthly Junior Tennis Tournament at the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex.
The tournament which took place between February 15 and 17 saw participation of 85 players competing in five categories in both the boys and girls sections.
Muneer Al Rawahi won the boys under-16 and under-18 titles.
In the under-16 final, Muneer Al Rawahi overcame an early resistance from Vivek Kolluru for a 6-4, 6-1 victory.
In the under-18 summit clash, Muneer overcame Ammar Al Khanjari for a 9-6 victory.
Vivek Kolluru made up for his loss in the under-16 final by winning the under-14 crown. In the under-14 final, he defeated Tyler Blake by a 9-6 margin.
The girls under-14 title went to Kaviya Jayakumar who defeated Safanah Al Riyami 9-6 in the final.
In the girls under-16 final, Safanah Al Riyami overcame Tanaal Al Riyami for a 9-6 victory.
Majeed Abdullah Al Asfoor, a former chairman of Oman Tennis Association, handed over the awards in the presence of OTA Executive Director Salman Al Balushi and board member Khalid Al Busafi.

Girls U-14: Kaviya Jayakumar bt Safanah Al Riyami 9-6.
Boys U-16: Muneer Al Rawahi bt Vivek Kolluru 6-4, 6-1.
Girls U-16: Safanah Al Riyami bt Tanaal Al Riyami 9-6.
Boys U-18: Muneer Al Rawahi bt Ammar Al Khanjari 9-6.
