Sultan Qaboos University set to launch its new media identity

Muscat: The Department of Public Relations and Information at Sultan Qaboos University (SQU) will launch its new media identity today under the patronage of Abdul Aziz bin Mohammed Al Rowas, His Majesty the Sultan’s Advisor for Cultural Affairs.
During the ceremony, the new publications of the department will be launched, namely the Arabic bulletin ‘Iqra’ and English bulletin ‘Imprint’, and the e-platform ‘Anwar’, which will serve as an electronic newspaper that seeks to disseminate everything related to SQU including stories that take place in the university.
The concept of the new identity is to be practical, clear-sighted, simple and modern.
Its main icon is based on these key words: an icon that combines several visual symbols, between the letter I in ‘Iqra’ and I in Imprint, the shield in the university logo, in addition another encoding for the pen which is enhanced by modern script that is modern and clear and strong that translates the message of the department to be clear and easy without complication.
The development of this identity comes to create a positive and interactive media content that is consistent with the vision, mission, goals and values of Sultan Qaboos University and to provide contemporary content focussing on the stories and experiences of the associates in the institution of students and employees.
The inauguration ceremony will witness the opening of a mini-exhibition documenting the media activities at Sultan Qaboos University since the 1990s.
