Raysut Cement inks deal for waste heat recovery project

Muscat: Raysut Cement Company signed an agreement to develop a waste heat recovery project with a Chinese company, Sinoma Overseas Development, on Thursday.
The pact was signed at Grand Hyatt Hotel in Muscat.
The project is the first-of-its-kind in the Sultanate. Upon the completion of the project, the current power cost is expected to be reduced by 30 per cent.
Joey Ghose, CEO of Raysut Cement Company, and Meng Qinglin, CEO of Sinoma Overseas Development, signed the agreement in the presence of Ahmed bin Yousef bin Alawi Al Ibrahim, chairman, Board of Directors, Raysut Cement Company.
“Our celebration over signing a waste heat recovery project agreement with Sinoma Overseas Development from China is a new step towards the go green initiative and the first-of-its-kind in Oman to be achieved after proper, well studied and subsequent steps,” Al Ibrahim said.
“As members of Raysut Cement Company’s Board of Directors, we work hard to contribute effectively to the development of this country under the wise leadership of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said,” he added.
