Muscat: Commemorating five years of successful operations, Maisarah Islamic Banking Services from BankDhofar unveiled its Prize Account scheme for 2018 with valuable and more attractive cash prizes.
The new scheme provides chances for 5 winners in all categories including weekly, monthly, bi-monthly, Eid draws and grand prizes. Including 365 winners, all customers are eligible for a prize pool of OMR400,000.
Elaborating on the new Prize Account Scheme, Mujtabah Ali Dawood, executive manager, Retail Division, Maisarah Islamic Banking Services said, “Maisarah is keen on introducing best products for customers and we will continue to provide our customers with a distinctive experience. We are delighted to announce this year’s scheme, which provides more attractive prizes for our valued customers. Through our prize account scheme, we aim to inspire our customers to save more and reward them for that.”
He added, “This year we increased the chances of winning for our customers, as we are giving away 365 prizes to 365 winners.”
This year the total amount to be won under the weekly draw is OMR65,000, where 260 customers will have a chance to win OMR250 each through 52 draws to be held throughout the year. Under the monthly draw, the total amount to be won is OMR30,000, for 60 customers (OMR500 each). Under the bi-monthly draw, 30 customers have a chance to win OMR30,000 (OMR1,000 each). Five winners will be picked during each weekly, monthly and bi-monthly draw. Maisarah will also conduct special draws for Eid Al Fitr and Eid Al Adha, during which 10 winners can take home OMR2,500 each. Additionally, the total amount of the grand prizes is OMR250,000 for 5 winners (OMR50,000 each) which is given away for one winner every two months starting from the period March/April.
This account is based on the Islamic profit sharing concept of Mudarabah. To follow their dreams, customers need to maintain a minimum balance of OMR100 in their accounts for a week for weekly draws and for a month for other draws. For every OMR100 balance, they get one chance to win. Priority banking customers, however, get 3 chances for every OMR100 maintained in their account. The more the customers’ save, the greater their chances of winning. The winners are randomly selected from the customers of Maisarah by an automated system in sync with the approved procedures for the draw.
The exclusive feature of Maisarah Prize Account is that customers are eligible for the expected profit of up to 3% p.a. on their deposits maintained in the account, and the bank is giving away these prizes from its own sources. Hence, it is not only encouraging customers to save but also rewarding them.
