After three withdrawal requests, OCCI poll panel cancels voting centre Al Wusta

Muscat: Following three requests for withdrawal from the candidates for membership of the Board of Directors of Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry in the Governorate of Al Wusta, it has been decided to cancel the electoral centre in the Governorate of Al Wusta, the Elections Committee of the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) for the period 2018-2022 has announced.
This has been done to keep seven candidates, which is the number required for the board of the branch, according to Article (25) of the Royal Decree No. 45/2017.
The Elections Committee said that the voting for Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry will be open from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm on Sunday, January 28.
The Elections Committee invites voters to abide by the time limit and bring the voter card issued for them, as well as bring the origin of the ID card and be in force so that the voter can vote.
The Elections Committee explained that the voting will be conducted electronically through the electronic voting system used in the municipal elections, as well as in the elections of OCCI for the past period. The counting method will be automated through the system, which ensures the accuracy of sorting and the ease and speed of obtaining the results in the same day.
Article (21) of Ministerial Decision No. 225/2017 stipulates that the concerned parties may complain about the results of the elections. The grievances shall be submitted to the appeals committee within seven days from the date of the announcement of the election results. The grievances shall be resolved within 3 working days of the date of its submission, and the decision on this matter shall be final.
