Muscat: Oman National Transport Company (Mwasalat) announced that it will launch Ruwi-Al Amerat route on April 2, as part of the company's previously announced plan on the routes that will be operated during the current year.
The company will operate buses to and from Ruwi-Al Amerat every 20 minutes starting at 6am until 9.40pm on weekdays and from 7am until 9.40pm during weekends and holidays.
Mwasalat plans to launch three main routes this year, namely Ruwi-Al Amirat, Ruwi-Muttrah-Al Alam Palace, and Al Khoudh-Al Sahwa Roundabout, passing by Sultan Qaboos University.
After launching its new identity, Mwasalat operated Ruwi-Al Maabaila route as more than 640,000 passengers used this route until the end of January 2016, with 9,000 passengers a day.
Mwasalat will announce during this year its strategic plan until 2040 as well as the details of its new routes in 2017.
