Jet Airways’ inaugural flight from Muscat to Delhi takes off

Muscat: India-based private airline, Jet Airways flagged off its inaugural direct flight from Muscat to Delhi on Monday.
Jet Airways will now operate a daily flight between Muscat and Delhi, providing greater choice for passengers travelling to India.

The addition of this new flight from the airline’s strategic hub in Delhi will further strengthen the airline’s growing international network and enhance flight connectivity from the Gulf region to destinations in Northern India served by the airline.
The new flight between Muscat and Delhi will make the airline’s role more significant in promoting travel between the two countries.
Indra Mani Pandey, India’s ambassador in Oman, graced the launch ceremony as the Chief Guest, and was accompanied by Shakir Kantawala, vice president, Gulf, Middle East and North Africa, Riyaz Kuttery, general manager, Oman, and the Jet Airways local team. Other distinguished members from travel trade, Oman Airports Management Company (OAMC) and the Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), made the inaugural function truly special with their presence.
A symbolic cake cutting was done by Ambassador Pandey, marked the flight launch.
Jet Airways flight 9W 597 duly took off from the Muscat International Airport at 02:30 hrs with a full complement of Premiere and Economy Class guests and will arrive at Delhi at 07:00 hrs. On the return, the flight will leave Delhi at 23:15 hrs to arrive in Muscat at 01:30 hrs.
Jet Airways’ Kantawala said, "It is indeed a proud moment for us at Jet Airways to launch our maiden international flight between Muscat and Delhi. There is a strong demand in travel between Oman and India from the Indian community, while visiting friends and relatives in India. Furthermore, the existence of strong trade and tourism links between Oman and India has made the route buoyant and this has seen a consistent rise.”
