Muscat: Filipino residents in Oman who’ve made lasting positive change to the community and wish to act as an example to others are welcome to apply for the 2018 Presidential Awards for Filipino Officials and Organisations Overseas.
The move is spearheaded by the Philippines’ Commission on Filipinos Overseas (CFO) and the Philippine Embassy in Oman has encouraged residents in the Sultanate to come forward and submit their applications.
Nominations must be submitted to the embassy on or before May 6, 2018, so that these can be evaluated and submitted to the CFO.
“These biennial awards, which were established through Executive Order No. 498 in December 1991, are conferred to distinguished Filipino individuals and organisations in recognition of their outstanding achievements in their field of profession,” said a statement from the Philippine Embassy in Oman.
“The awards are also conferred to foreign individuals and organisations that provide assistance to the country or advance the cause of Filipino communities overseas,” it added.
To download the nomination form as well as understand the rules and guidelines for the awards, those interested can visit the Presidential Awards Website and its official Facebook page.
Alternatively, the organisers of the awards can be reached at +632-552-4700 or emailed at [email protected] or at [email protected].
