Nearly six kilos of marijuana seized at Muscat airport

Muscat: Just under six kilos of marijuana and a large number of illegal cigarettes were seized by customs officials in two Oman ports, the department announced online.

Customs officers at Muscat International Airport foiled a bid to smuggle 5.9 kilograms of marijuana, Oman Customs said.

In the second case, customs officials said, "Al Wajajah customs department foiled the professional smuggling of a quantity of illegal cigarettes that were hidden in a box designed for smuggling purposes," according to Oman Customs.
