Turkish Airlines introduces two more Istanbul-Muscat flights

Muscat: Growing trade and tourism links between the Sultanate of Oman and Turkey has prompted Turkish Airlines, the national flag carrier of Turkey, to introduce two flights a week between Muscat and Istanbul.
From March 29, Turkish Airlines will operate double daily flights on Tuesday’s and Saturday from the Muscat International Airport.
“On the rest of the days, we will operate one flight a day,” said Mehmed Zingal, General Manager, Turkish Airlines, in Muscat, after inaugurating their new office in Ruwi here on Sunday.
In an exclusive interview to the Times of Oman, he said Oman is a very important market for Turkish Airlines.
“It is the fastest growing airline company in the world and connecting Oman to more than 100 destinations daily,” he said.
Mehmed Zingal also said they are growing at a rate of 20 per cent in Oman. “In 2006, we started our operations in Oman with three flights a week and in 2015 we carried around 40,000 people from Oman,” he said.
To celebrate the 10th anniversary of its operations in Oman, Turkish Airlines organised an event on Sunday night at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in which 250 VIP guests, including ambassadors, travel agent executives, airline professionals and civil aviation directors participated. A Turkish dance group performed traditional folk dances as a representation of the magnificent Turkish culture.
The show was appreciated by all guests.
“We are the official airline partner of Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice Movie,” said İhsan Gorgun, the Marketing Manager of Turkish Airlines.
He also added that the premiere of the movie will be held in Muscat next Wednesday.
