Four students of Pakistan School Muscat excel in examinations

Muscat: Four students from Pakistan School Muscat (PSM) received the Outstanding Learner Award for achieving the highest marks at both the IGCSE and International A-Levels (IAL) examinations in the Sultanate.
Students of PSM excelled this year in subjects such as Chemistry, Mathematics, Islamiyat, Urdu and English.
From the IAL section, Muhammad Abdullah Sulemani received the highest marks in Chemistry, while Minhal Aftab scored the highest marks in Mathematics. Moreover, from the IGCSE group, Xeneb Sulemani got the highest marks in Islamiyat and Laiba Ali in Urdu and English.
Hard work pays
Speaking exclusively to Times of Oman, the mother of Laiba Ali, who is also one of the top students in the category of Overall Performance at the school, said, “I am extremely proud of her performance at IGCSE this year. Seeing her work so hard, I was positive that she was going to get a distinction in science, as I myself am a Chemistry teacher. I have been teaching Chemistry for 22 years overall but have been teaching it in Oman for the last seven years, including Biology.”
“Her father is an English teacher so he kind of took the lead here but I am positive that Laiba is going to get a distinction in Chemistry at the A-levels. I spoke to her yesterday and told her that now that she has made her father proud, it is my turn,” said her mother, Iffat Ali.
Laiba achieved six A* in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, including distinctions in Urdu and English. She got two
A grades in Islamiyat and Pakistan Studies.
On the other hand, Minhal Aftaab, who got a distinction in Mathematics, is currently enrolled at a university in Turkey studying electrical engineering. He took inspiration from his older brother Saad Aftab who scored 100 per cent marks at the SAT-II exam two years ago.
“Minhal couldn’t beat the score of his brother but managed to achieve 2,390/2,400 in SAT-II,” said his mother, Fouzia Aftab.
She added that she couldn’t be prouder and happier to know that her son achieved such outstanding results in his A-levels this year.
“I am extremely proud as a parent of the achievement of my son. Minhal is currently in Turkey and couldn’t be here to personally receive the award but has said that he is going to strive to put in more efforts to do better in the future,” said his proud mother.
Additionally, Maira Haroon and Xeneb Sulemani also emerged as the top students for overall performance at the school for IGCSE and IAL. On this occasion, the Board of Directors and Administration of PSM conveyed their special congratulations to the students, their parents and the teachers of the school.
