Al Mouj to host Europcar Open Golf Challenge

MUSCAT: After the tremendous success of the last five editions of the Europcar Open, Al Mouj Golf course is once again ready to host the sixth edition which promises to be even more enthralling on December 7, 2018.
This year, the anticipation for the exclusive event seems to have hit a new high as the limited spots got filled just a few hours after the registration opened. As is every year, the Europcar Open Golf event will see the best golfers in the country competing for the Men’s Division 1, Men’s Division 2, Ladies and the Inter-Club Challenge trophies.
Europcar hosted a launch dinner for the GM’s and captains of the four clubs from Oman. Mundhir Al Barwani, Chairman and Ahmed Al Jidhamy, Vice Chairman were present from OGC, while the clubs were represented by Sabri Al Mandhari, Men’s Captain and Yvonne Middleton, Ladies Captain Al Mouj Golf, Steve Blee Men’s Captain and S. J. Prakash, Men’s Vice Captain Ghala Valley Golf Club, Paul Wilcox, Men’s Captain and Brett Merrell, GM Ras Al Hamra, Henry Huneberg, Captain and Mike Rennardson, GM Muscat Hills.
This year the Europcar Open will have two new clubs participating in the Inter-Club Challenge – Dubai Creek Golf Club and the Qatar Education City Club.
The title sponsor for this prime corporate golfing event is Europcar Oman and will be partnered by Mistal Watches. The event is also jointly powered by Mitsubishi Motors and Al Ahlia Insurance. Travelex is the foreign exchange partner, Srilankan Airlines is the airline partner, Kempinski is the hotel partner, Al Seeb Technical Est. (SARCO) is the electronics partner, WH Smith is the retail partner, and African & Eastern is the beverage partner. The tournament will also be supported by Mumtaz Mahal and Woodlands restaurant.

The tournament will have a two shotgun starts 7am and 12pm. The event will climax in a pleasurable gala dinner, prize distribution and light entertainment. A total of 150 golfers have registered for the latest edition.
